Our story

We’re two changemakers who believe a better future is still possible. But the larger forces shaping our world — climate instability, political polarization, economic concentration, and the rapid rise of AI — are pushing mainstream systems in directions that are extractive, unequal, and disconnected from the future we want.

Many of us working for change feel it every day. Institutions move slowly or protect the status quo, while the people working to transform the status quo grow tired, isolated, or unsure where their energy can truly matter.

We don’t believe transformation starts from the centre. Change starts at the edges, where niches ideas and practices quietly take form.

The Outpost is our way to strengthen the edges — creating a space where changemakers across sectors and geographies can gather, exchange, find belonging, and experiment with new ways forward. A place where small pockets of possibility take root, connect, and quietly grow strong enough to shape what comes next.

Our Vision

At the Outpost, our vision is inspired everyday changemakers, ready and recharged to build a better future.

Our Journey

Our mission is to create brave spaces for everyday changemakers to learn, grow, and inspire one another.

At the Outpost, our approach is to create a supportive and empowering environment for people passionate about driving positive social change. We provide a platform for changemakers to bring their own workshops and ideas, fostering a community where everyone is a contributor. We operate on a non-profit model, so we encourage participants to view themselves as villagers rather than tourists, embracing the spirit of collaboration and learning.

Meet the Team

We're two passionate, curious and frankly frustrated citizens who've worked across systems transformation sectors over the past 10 years. We've walked different paths but have now come together to bring a vision to life: connecting changemakers to each other and themselves in nature
